pitbull poker ...

Post by dijwaila on Tue Aug 19, 2008 12:40 pm

a word of advice to those intending to play on this site ... only one game at a time. 'pitbull' uses one window for multiple games and the tabbed games not being viewed aren't prompted to the forefront when it is your turn to act.
therefor, a player cannot monitor more than one table and can easily have hands folded due to time expiration without warning.

though ... the live support staff is helpful and friendly. i contacted them regarding the content of this post, they directed me to the best option of who to contact and i received a response the same day indicating that they are working to have the option of multiple windows. they also indicated how i could best configure the options menu for their site to allow for a more enjoyable experience in the meantime.

1st: Make sure you've got a phone number they can reach you at. They do call to verify, as this offer is limited to one per household.

2nd: Our members have found that by going to Pitbull Poker, and using the live chat feature, this usually works to spur them into making the phone call and getting you the bonus sooner than later.

After using the live chat, stop back and let us know how things worked out. Also, after trying out the site, feel free to share your experiences and opinions about the site here.

Post by awry13 on Wed Nov 12, 2008 9:16 am

Got an email saying I qualified for a $5 instant bonus and/or a $20 first deposit instant bonus. I'm not interested in giving out my phone number so if that is necessary I will pass.

pitbull is getting worse, not better. i'm currently playing a stud h/l tournament, we have only reach blind level 5 and already can't count the number of times my betting turn has been skipped or the damage that has done to my chipstack.

absolute and ultimate are worse sites for different reasons, but his one is certainly at the top of the list at being incompetent and frustrating for those who try and play there ... every time i try it feels less and less like i will do so again.

it's seems somebody from pitbull posts here occasionally ... perhaps they will read this and other comments people have posted around the forum ...

we're on break now and for whatever reason(s) tournament lobby windows open without being prompted ... though this is somewhat amusing, as long as it stops when play resumes, lol. what a site!

and we're on break again .. this time at the final table.

seven players left ... two big stacks, two moderate, three small (including me) ... currently sitting fifth.

i'm chatting with a couple of the other players and they tell similar stories as posted above ... go pitbull!

Re: Pitbull Poker Review

Post by dijwaila on Mon Dec 29, 2008 10:11 pm

for anybody who may be reading along with my wee saga here ... i just finished fourth, made more mistakes than i'd like and won't whine about the bad beats ... all whined out, lol. came close to the chip lead with 5 of us left and now have enough for a few of our forum buy-in tournaments, so it's all good.

pitbull has a kind of comment card which can be completed after a tournament. with situations like this, i won't usually won't submit anything unless there is some form of incentive ... but pitbull seems like it could use all the help it can get!

then again, since my online poker days began i have been a regular at pokerroom.com ... which was named site of the year for 2005 (something pitbull seems unlikely to ever come close to). yet pokerroom, one of the first online sites and the first to offer mac compatible software, will no longer exist by the end of march. strange, no?

Re: Pitbull Poker Review

Post by mlkmn5029 on Wed Dec 31, 2008 1:20 am

i have played at pitbull until the other day. i gonna tell ya some negatives there. 1st u have to have 200 comp points to make a withdrawal of any kind. i've been playing there about 2 yrs but left for good last night. my hand history shows i won only 9 out of the last 100 hands i played there, yes i think i folded about 90 of those, mostly ring games. my main complaint was the junk cards i've been getting last 3 weeks. i saw my account go from 50 up to 100, then down to nothing. i won't be playing there anymore, not even freerolls, i think their software is pitifull. they haven't made any improvements to that site since they 1st started. besides i've been told a flash site is easier to hack too, not to mention inside crooks like ap and ub. now i expect to hear some critisism on this but really i could care less about pitbull poker site. also i have a new computer with a broadband connection and full tilt is freezing up on me as well. in my opinion full tilt and pitbull has primitive software. carbon, reefer, bodog, pokerstars, ap and ub have them beat when it comes to software. full tilt has no excuse. their software should be as good as pokerstars. well thats my 2 cents and i'm back quite

mlkmn5029 wrote:have to have 200 comp points to make a withdrawal of any kind.

such is necessary for a site which gives people $10 when creating an account, else it would be treated as an atm.

mlkmn5029 wrote:i won only 9 out of the last 100 hands i played there, yes i think i folded about 90 of those ...

a little math ... 100 - 90 = 10 ... hands won (9)/hands played (10) = a win ratio of 90%. is this a really a problem?

mlkmn5029 wrote:my main complaint was the junk cards i've been getting last 3 weeks.

even pros at pokerstars have cold runs.

mlkmn5029 wrote:i saw my account go from 50 up to 100, then down to nothing.

this sounds familiar ... my roll went from $10 to $500, and then i blew it all on tilt one evening following experiences such as those i've posted above.

i sat down at a $2.50/$5 cash table and just went all-in preflop every hand until it was all gone. funny thing is ... if i could have regained composure after the first 8 or 9 hands in which i was up to $700, it would have been a profitable few minutes!
but i didn't even think to cash out instead of playing at that cash table, and i already had more than 200 points. beware the tilt monster! (to quote t.b.d)

mlkmn5029 wrote:i won't be playing there anymore

i have felt that way too about more than one site during occasions of strong frustration. i can't see pitbull being a regular option for me either, but it's ok for our forum tournaments ... more for buy-ins than freerolls, though.

mlkmn5029 wrote:i think their software is pitifull. they haven't made any improvements to that site since they 1st started.

i was hoping to encounter somebody who had been playing there since the site originated ... so i could ask if the site has changed substancially since it originated.
i know of improvement made since i have been there (multiple windows for multiple tables as an example) ... but that is minor compared to some of the other problems (betting turns being skipped certainly qualifies!), which appear to be long standing issues. pitbull's priorities should be questioned.

mlkmn5029 wrote:besides i've been told a flash site is easier to hack too, not to mention inside crooks like ap and ub. .... their software should be as good as pokerstars.

pokerstars has the most secure software of any site i am aware of ... as well as being the best adiministrated site. ultimate bet, takwiro enterpirses and the rest of those scum are the bane of online poker.

mlkmn5029 wrote:now i expect to hear some critisism on this

you may wish to review some of the issues you raised and see if you still feel the same way you did when posting. mlkmn, i'd be happy to see you at the tables of our pitbull forum tournaments ... and even happier to watch you win!
