Final Tables

Post by Roller on Wed Sep 09, 2009 12:04 am

Final Tables

Final Tables and how you approach them.

Do you change up your style.

1. Play more aggressive.
2. Avoid certain spots.
3. Tighten up.
4. Stay steady and True.
5. Avoid the big stack.
6. Gun after the big stack.
7. Play against the short stacks.
8. Avoid the short stacks
9. Play All in poker.
10. Fold your stack away.
11. Donk your chips away.
12. Loosen your hand selection.
13. A mixer of all these styles.
14. Do you play the same way that got you this far in the tournament and see where it takes you.

How do you approach Final Tables.

I probably get a little more aggressive at the final table. A lot depends on who's there and how they play. Can't just play your hands.. got to play the table. Final table calls for some degree of flexibility to the situation. Philly has so many final tables... he should post here and give his take on this.

with a big smile & kick to my strut & a hearty Hello ....well it depends on my chippie stack size at the table (biggest, large, medium or Short stacked)compared to the enemy as to my battle plan for playing/betting/hands to get involved with....but if I am medium to large+ stacked I don't change much in my style of play to start at the final table, play like its just another table in the tourny(bluffing included)and will try to isolate up against the short stacks or large stacks when the chance and proper cards arise....but as more fall away I open up the choices of starting hands a little and maybe get even more aggressive with the post flop bets when I'm sure I'm ahead but the enemy is looking for a card(s)/hand that would beat me(it'll cost 'em dearly to keep chaseing or try to catch that over card). As for when I'm short stacked thats a whole 'nother animal and requires secrecy for it to be effective.

I try not to play too many hands. There are always a couple players at the FT that play a little too aggressive and they will either get knocked out or knock out a couple other players with there aggressive play.
