If you could get tutored...

Post by Not Like Me on Thu Aug 13, 2009 10:03 am

By one living poker player, for a single day, who would you choose?

I think this may be a little too obvious, but I'd have to go with Doyle Brunson. This man has seen everything the game has offered (including people shot/stabbed/killed at the table!), and there's no arguing with his Main Event titles and ridiculously helpful Super System series. He oozes experience and solid play, and I bet he'd have plenty of amazing stories to tell as well.

I was going to say Phil Hellmuth, because I have the utmost respect for him as a player, but as a human being I think he's far too egotistical to sit and listen to for more than 5 mins lol.

Hey Shane didn't we have this conversation before?

Cindy Margolis?!? Razz

lawlololol.

On a serious note, I would probably pick Phil Hellmuth. I think I could put up with the constant bragging hahaha.

Phil Ivey

Sorry to disappoint many but Ivey is at the top of his game and is an insanely incredible player.

Second choice would have to go to Daniel Negreanu. OMG teach me those reading skills.

Those 3 that you guys listed would be the 3 I would be able to narrow my list down to but would have a hard time narrowing it down to just one.

Doyle Brunson's coaching would be priceless, especially in the ring.

Ivey on the other hand would take your tournament game and your HU play to a whole new level.

Negreanu could offer you a great balance of both and throw in some good reads and a very positive attitude about the game in for good measure.

Would be a tough decision for me to pick one. Would have to do some serious mulling over the subject if ever provided the opportunity to choose between the 3.

If I absolutely could not decide, I would probably just go with Vanessa Rousso. Although I'm sure she could teach me a s***load about poker, I don't think I would learn a f***ing thing and I would enjoy every minute of it!

Daniel, Doyle, Phil Ivey,.... hard to get better than that... but I can see TBD's point about Vanessa.. LMAO!

I guess if you pinned me down... overall I would like to have Doyle in my corner. Not just for his obvious playing skills and experience.. but the entertainment value of all those years of poker and life would just be amazing to be tutored by. No other I can think of could possibly match the experience factor. The stories he would tell you would be the thing that could sway my decision for sure. I would be willing to bet that there would not be many dull moments being tutored by Doyle. Smile

TBD has changed my mind completely.

I choose Vanessa Rousso.

Laughing

Phil Ivey and Daniel Negreanu would just bore me details and more details of Holdem information.

Thanks TBD.
I owe you one.
