Is this the one also known as Avast!? That's what I use on my desktop computers, and it's hands down the best free anti-virus/anti-spyware I've come across. It has brought some of my computers back from near doom, and works as well as any of the paid ones.

Hey TBD, They are 2 different programs, but I have also used avast on my last old pewtr, both work very good and at the best price for critter catchers!!! Very Happy Just talked to my best computer guy, He said you can have them both and just dont runn them at the same time, that they both will catch critters that the other dont. soo, I now have both installed and everything seems fine so far!! Razor. Ok TBD. here are the links. http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home and AVG http://free.avg.com/download?prd=afe

Right on. Thanks for the info. I have tried all sorts of AV programs and have found what you said to be true. Each one catches problems that the others don't. It seems that the only all-inclusive program out there is actually using them all! But yeah, it's good to know about another free one. I just can't see spending money on any anti-virus program that won't truly clean your computer, so I like to stick to the effective free ones. If you've got a link to the download page, feel free to post it here in this thread. I know it will come in useful to at least a few of us here....right guys?
