me thinks that I have touched on a soreness

there seems to be a very disturbing amount of covering up going on behind the scene on this forum and loandbehold i seem to have disturbed the apple cart so to say. there has been some very unfriendly chit chat directed my way do to some harmless joking around about the freeroll passwords being released early to a choice few i mean very early. well it seems to be rather a touchy subject around these parts. anyone else got a constructive comment please feel free as for you who don't i already know your opinions and you can just shove em

I got some constructive criticism for you. AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEE Poor baby don't understand. One more time, the players that are registered early in games open to the whole forum are part of the KING's and QUEEN's group. We got invited into this ELITE group be being meaningful active members of this one of a kind forum. Now from time to time there are special games that are only open to those that get an invitation. The TOP POSTER game comes to mind; the game that only the TOP POSTERS for the previous month only get to play in. Then sometimes a member of the forum will host a tourney that TBD will set up for them. Since a member is having the private tourney it is only appropriate for that person to decide whether he wants the whole forum invited or only a certain few. If you will like to be in charge of who gets invited to play a tourney all you have to do is tell TBD. Give him the site you will like to have it on, have the money in an account at said site for the prize pool(only if it is a freeroll), the date and time. Then you can give out the PW only to those that you to play. Hope this helps. PEACE OUT

what gets me on this whole issue about him, he was on his way to being in top posters lounge, i don't know why he said the things he said about his fellow Donkhards. i personally took them as an attack. just my opinion

I agree that a sore spot was touched on at some point. Since then it seems that things have escalated.

My first choice for resolution would be for all to agree on a truce, move along, let it go, or whatever gets us back on the subject of poker.

As for "cover-ups," there are none. It's all very much out in the open, and although it has been explained countless times (see many of the old posts from "Past Donkhard Tournaments") I'll gladly explain it again.

Passwords are made available only very shortly before gametime. The reason for this is because there are some true morons out there who go around giving out the passwords to non-members. I used to release the passwords as soon as I'd get them, but then we would end up with 600+ players with 3/4 of them not even being donkhard members. The larger fields shrink the prizes ( as the prize money is thinned out by being distributed over a larger number of players) and it makes it harder for donkhard members to win anything because of the the large amount of competition.

So I changed how I released the passwords. Now they are only available a few minutes before gametime.

I decided, 100% completely on my own, to create a private group and lounge for the most active members. This group has been active pretty much since the beginning.

Every week hundreds of new members show up. Because we are the only forum out there that I know of, (besides maybe FeltFanatics) that gives out passwords without any type of restrictions (other than joining the forum), many of the people who join have no interest in participating in the forum discussions. They are only here for the passwords. I am fine with this. After all, Donkhard is a place for poker players to find poker games and make some money.

But the forum part of donkhard is a place for discussion. So one day I also decided, completely on my own, to make the passwords available early to the most loyal and active members. I did this because I wanted to offer extra incentives for people who use these forums to post their discussions. After all, they could do this anywhere, but they choose to do it here. Because this small group has been trustworthy and has not leaked the passwords, I continue to give them the passwords early.

Every so often, one of the new members out of the hundreds who join decides that they want to take part in active discussion here on the forum. The participate in the games and discussion regularly, and before long, they are too admitted into the private group for the most active members.

It really doesn't take much more than some friendly discussion on a regular basis and a little bit of time to be sure that the new "active" members is a sustaining flame and not just a brief firework.

Many members have been admitted to this group, while many more are added regularly and many, many more will one day join. These players are not admitted based on who I like. It's not any type of a lottery system that would hurt anyone's chance of getting in. It's based on activity and the quality of such activity. We've got nearly 6,000 members on this site now, and all 6,000 of them literally could easily qualify for early passwords if they were to take an active stance here on the forum.

So I think that about covers it all. Nothing hidden. How it all works is right out there in the open.

On a side note, I've noticed the level of trash talking picking up here a bit. One of the forum is rules is to simply treat fellow members with respect. Trash talking is going to happen. Much of it does happen in jest. The joking around is okay as long as everyone involved in the joking (BOTH the jokers and the butts of the jokes) fully understands that it is a friendly joke AND is comfortable and okay with the joking.

Any kind of joking around by default seems to become alot more serious when the above conditions are not met. It is best at that point to maybe either offer up an apology, or eff it, if you're not the apologizing type, just move on.

If that doesn't happen, I have to step in and Administrate, which quite frankly, I hate doing. I'd rather be playing poker.

rather be playing poker....i heard of that...no i think i read about it in a manual somewhere...gosh i need a game.as for hitting a sore spot ...yes you did lots of us have been here a lil while and have become friends...and you being so new here we find it very odd you chose to verbally attack a member with a great reputation...we are his friends,why wouldnt we support him?I honestly hope you withdraw some of the bad comments and just try to focus on fitting in as this is one of the best forums around.

well taken message I couldn't have put it better myself. First off my comments were offered up as a constructive critisism not a personal attack. The response was extreme and very confrontational. Escalating to abusive. Well I am not easily intimidated and responded in kind. As for some of the unfriendly gestures I actually found one to be very amusing the atomic finger was quite entertaining and is now repeated 9 fold as the background for my desktop ty. I will continue to participate and will call things as I see them so expect things to be interesting now and then. TBD keep up the good work it is very appreciated. As for the rest of you and you know who you are Mellow Out OK' Take out your aggresive behavior at the tables next time maybe it'll pay off.

glad things are looking to get back on track it seems. as for people taking their aggression out on the tables for the possibility of paying off, most of the regulars here do have a bankroll that continues to grow because of good descision making and good play. hopefully you will take your own advice and in the near future be on the same level of ability as some of us regulars. if you want you could let me know what sites you have a bankroll on and i will give you an opinion of the best way to build on it. i enjoy helping players get on the track to success and would be willing to help you as well.
