A Joyous Day

Post by Not Like Me on Fri Sep 18, 2009 11:17 pm

I know most of you are American, so not many of you follow hockey too much with a few notable exceptions, but I had to announce the trading + signing of a young superstar for the Toronto Maple Leafs, one Mr. Phil Kessel. He's 21 years old and potted 36 goals last year in only 70 games, remarkable for someone his age. He had more goals than Sidney Crosby (widely acknowledged as the most complete hockey player in the world) and the Leafs signed him for 5 years/$27.5 million dollars.

I know there's at least one B's fan on here, so I hope this thread doesn't sting too much, but this is our best trade since getting Mats Sundin back in 1994. I'm looking forward to seeing him in our lineup for the next few years, and hopefully we'll finally come back into contention for the Stanley Cup.

Hockey??? not excactly the sport for the far south tho I think there is actually a pro hockey team here in Florida. somewhere. .... but G'Luck to your team in thier quest for the cup...its always very cool and when your fav. team signs a new player with loads of athletic ability and promise.Really pumps up the anticipation for the season.
