Big Donk I listened to you.

Post by k9ofspades on Sun Dec 14, 2008 2:18 pm

I went into a cash table at Doyle's Room with $4 won an all in with 2 pr. I had 79 suited called a raise preflop. Scarry flop 789 two suited not my suit. Led out with a pot size bet got reraised and called. I went all in raiser called me caller folded. They don't show you the hands until the end. Ace on the river another scarry card. I never did see the losing hand. I would think a flush or str draw or an over pr. I was seven something after the pot. won a couple small hands on up over $4 which is more than 10% of my bankroll at Doyle's room so I left after one round. By the way Big donk do have doyle's Super System (I do) I saw you said he said to play the rush and wondered if you got it there. If you have his second book I would like to hear your opinion of it. TIA.

Regards Guy

That's awesome. Glad to hear some stories of good fortune.

And yeah it was Super System where I read about "playing the rush," as I do religiously when I play on DR.

I do have both SS1 and 2. I cracked open 2 a long time ago but can't remember too much about it. I'll have to give it another look. If I do remember correctly, I believe it was basically a re-write of SS1 and with some stuff added in. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong here.

congratulations for your success k9 ... you could also post the history from this hand to a strategy thread here at the forum and see what people's reactions are ...

I'd also be interested to see a hand history or hear some more details on this one.

I was also thinking that if you anyone here would like to post some more hand histories, I could re-create them with the popopop replayer and upload the videos to youtube for fun.

P.S. I just noticed this, but I like how "listening to The Big Donk" ends up in the "Poker Scandal" section. lol!

GL all!

ask and thou shall receive ... this is a hand from an omaha hi/lo tournemant on fulll tilt yesterday. for anybody unfamiliar with the game ... this is the equivalent to a royal straight flush for texas hold'em.

t.b.d. ... if you are going to make a video out of this hand, it could be used as part of a promo for the weekly plo8 tournament.

though ... if the board were configured for a royal straight flush to be possible, and if a player had the two cards in their hand to complete it ... such would still be the best possible high hand. for all this and more, check out your local guide to plo8 today and start enjoying an excellent version of poker.

that's all for today folks, good luck at the tables ... your friendly plo8 salesman!

t.b.d, i believe you mentioned something being missing from this hand history ... and maybe i should put the beer down, but i don't see it, lol.
so, out of curiosity (and maybe needing to fix my brain, lol) ... what is missing here?
