Vegas in March

Post by ryodejaneiro on Tue Feb 10, 2009 4:50 pm

So just recently two friends of mine and I decided to go to Vegas in March. We'll only be there for a few days (3 nights) but we're staying at Caesar's Palace, Bellagio, and Mandalay Bay Very Happy The rates were about $85/night plus taxes although I remember seeing some room at $50 in January.

Anyway, we likely won't be hitting the Bellagio hard since they're a tad bit out of our bankroll (though who knows, one game of war for $20?), but any suggestions or recommendations? This will be my third overall visit to Vegas but I haven't been there since summer of 2007.

i have yet to be there myself, but i'll respond anyway so this topic will go back to the top of the rotating list. tbd is the best bet for recommendations and this way he will be more likely to notice it.

we could start a 'recommended rooms' thread. if a member is traveling, happens to sit down at a table somewhere and has an enjoyable enough experience to inspire a post ... this would be the place.

a counterpart could be created too ... perhaps 'avoidable attractions'. "it seemed promising ... but never again!" if this is among the thoughts you've had after a session at a foreign table, post away!

ryo, perhaps your trip will provide an addition or two. let us know how it goes ...

Are you suggesting an Ocean's 11 like heist? Razz Ryo's 11?

Nice idea. It could become a good resource.

I'll do my best! We actually got some great rates for hotels so we're all set. We used some promo codes that bumped the price down quite a bit. I'm just really excited about staying in 3 great/normally pricey hotels including Caesar's and Bellagio. We're also hoping we can maybe get a complimentary upgrade when we check in (anyone familiar with the $20 trick?).

I've been joking with my friends that my goal should be to try to see if I can stay at all major hotels in Vegas - so a new hotel each time I go there. So far the list includes:
- Excalibur (Spring 2007)
- Luxor (Summer 2008)
- MGM Grand "
- Bellagio (March 2009!)
- Caesar's Palace "
- Mandalay Bay "

Fun idea but probably not realistic since they're building new casinos all the time!
