Personal Email From Greg Raymer!
To make a long story short, I was browsing a well known poker site when I came across a post from Greg back in 2002, when he was a registered user at the site, before he was a WSOP champion. I clicked on his profile to see if he was still active on the site, and an email address happened to be listed. So, for shits and giggles, I decided to send him an email to see if the account was active and (perhaps) if he had any advice/lessons that he was willing to give. Here's his email:
Shane,
I still check this email now and again. Thanks for your interest, but I don't give private lessons at this time. I do teach at some of the WSOP Academies, and do a lot of instructional videos at ProPlayLive.com. You might want to check those out.
Greg.
In short, I'm still just the little amateur bug who Greg would flick off his shoulder, but it was kind of neat to get a response (quickly I might add) from a world champion. Ah well, maybe Hachem is willing to teach!

Coool beans he actually wrote back to you persoanlly.... ... I think the pros time is now really restricted (now that poker is highly popular) what with their commitments with site promotions and play, blogs ,products etc. and then playing actual big high stakes cash games and the Poker tournaments around the country and world. the best we get is from the lessons insights and hints they put out in online Emails, blogs or in books.

Re: Personal Email From Greg Raymer!
Greg Raymer is most certainly not a donkey. He has done well in many other tournaments, and the year after he won the big one, he made another memorable run and finished 25th!
In 2005 Raymer also entered the inaugural British Poker Open
which was filmed in London and was the UK's biggest live poker event in
history. As a firm favourite Raymer made the final table to come third
in a live final and collect around £20,000.
In March 2006, Raymer (as "Fossilman") took second place in the
first quarterly $1,000,000 guaranteed tournament on PokerStars, winning
over $180,000 in a field of over 1500 tournament players.
On September 17th, 2007, Raymer won the $320 WCOOP (World Championship of Online Poker) Pot Limit Omaha with Rebuys Event on PokerStars, winning $168,362.
As of 2008, his total live tournament winnings exceed $6,000,000. The majority of that figure, $5,712,585, have come from his 12 cashes at the WSOP.
Greg Raymer is NOT a donk!

Re: Personal Email From Greg Raymer!
I was on Greg Raymer's Wikipedia page when I found the information in my above post, and I also found some other things about him that aren't poker related, but they're still pretty neat.
Raymer stated that he is allergic to alcohol during his appearance on the European Poker Tour.
In a December 2006 interview Raymer said that he was considering running for Vice-President of the United States in 2008 as a candidate of the Libertarian Party. However, Raymer did not end up running.
Cool, huh?
