Re: FULL TILT SCAM
Thanks for the post and heads up for everyone. There have been a good many on line schemes just like this one from many angles... not just poker sites. I from time to time get scam emails seemingly from legitimate sources... and the thing is the same... don't give out your personal info over email for any reason to be safe. The place of business, poker site... or whatever will NEVER ask you for your info or password via email. You should turn them in to what ever abuse control the poker site or place of business your online account is with. Most of the time they will have an email address you can report this abusive email to... such as... abuse@..... In most cases and this is what I do... they(your place of business) will instruct you to forward them the email with the headers intact. You can get the headers by clicking file, properties, and then click message source and copy and paste all the header info and send it to them. With this info they will know the physical address and IP address of the source of the email.
Beware of these scam emails that can come from scammers that will try to get your personal info from many different accounts that you might have online.

Re: FULL TILT SCAM
One thing's got me thoroughly confused. Is the email address when you hit reply actually promo@fulltiltpoker.com or promo@fulltiltpoker.net?
The reason I ask is because Full Tilt owns both the fulltiltpoker.com and fulltiltpoker.net domains. How can someone create an email address on that domain? Maybe I'm just naive, but I don't see how that's possible. Sounds like a possible inside job.

Re: FULL TILT SCAM
unless you are spelling the e mail wrong, alot of hackers will change a letter in the text, and you don t realize it to it's to late. it happened to me on e bay, i couldn t believe i got scammed, the guy got my password and listed like 10 laptops and a bunch of other computer stuff. i was up on the phone all night trying to straighten out my account, scammers are everywhere in cyberworld, and will do anything they can to profit, including getting your hard earned poker money. i was lucky i caught it when i checked my listings.... some people are not so lucky until it's to late

Re: FULL TILT SCAM
Wow lol, you got the same one as my brother did, and I told him not to do that survey.
So he just deleted and that was the end of it.
I would be mad if that would happen to me and they steal my account.
Just got to keep my eyes open.

Hey there are a million spoof sites on the internet. they alow you to send emails from any address you want. many of these sites are free and open for anyone to use. I dont know if they can recv. a response email. but I do know that they can send it from any address. The Big Donk wrote:One thing's got me thoroughly confused. Re: FULL TILT SCAM
Why do Nigerians and other scamsters always got to be trying to ruin everyone's lives for a quick buck? I operated an online store for awhile and used PayPal to accept payment. Someone used my website to place an order with a bogus credit card through PayPal so he could use the automated reply email that PayPal sends to the purchaser to modify it and send it out to a list of PayPal members asking them to verify if they made that purchase. He simply just changed the name in the reply email from PayPal with photoshop or something to the names of the people he was sending them to instead and sent them out. The link in the email he added was clearly not PayPal's site but people failed to hover over the link to see and the site they were forwarded to looked like PayPal up and down and you wouldn't believe the number of people that put in their personal information, including social security numbers. People are insane about money and this scamster used that against them. People flooded to the site to prove that they didn't make that purchase instead of just calling PayPal or me about it first. I got calls and emails for 3 weeks straight, 24 hrs a day, that I had to try to explain and try to defend my business as well as help anyone I could not get scammed and avoid the site. Some people where smart enough to hover over the link but 95% or so were not. Probably 75% put in their PayPal pass alone and about 25% put in their PayPal password and on the next page their SSN.
Lesson: Don't believe a freakin thing you get by email unless it's from a trusted source that you can verify. Always, always, hover over any links to verify the site or email is their's and by all means, make a phone call to verify before doing anything.
