august 17th h.o.r.s.e. tournament ...

45 minutes until the donkhard members private h.o.r.s.e. tournament begins ... i'm eagerly awaiting another great game!

i see tinman is already awaiting challengers ... anybody else stoked for this one?

don't forget ... i am awarding an extra $5 to the winner of todays tournament!

ladymavrick has joined the field for a rematch with tinman ... should be a great game, onlny one can win ... but good luck to both!

round I: hold'em

ladymav takes an early 1700 to 1200 lead with a pocket pair of jacks ...

and we have a a late entrant, 'lizasback'!

this round finishes with ladymav holding the lead at 1900, liza with 1600 and tinman sitting at 1000.

round II: oh8

liza starts off strong and is the first player to hit 2k in chips by taking some from ladymav, who is back to the starting stack size ...

liza's lead is widened by taking another 200 from ladymav the next hand with a set of queens ...

ladymav doesn't stay down for long though as she takes 400 from tinman the next hand, winning both high and low ...

tinman doesn't fold though and draws back to 900 chips with two consecutive small pots ...

but he and ladymav may be playing for second as liza takes more chips from them both to hold a strong lead with 2500, almost twice ladymavs 1300 and towering over tinmans 700 ...

round III: razz

liza shows sixes on fourth street and takes tinman down to 600 on the first hand ...

liza takes another 400 from ladymav a few hands later for a chipstack of 3000 to laddymavs 1000 and tinmans 500 ...

the draws don't seem to be falling tinman's way early on ... when he has the cards, nobody has them to play with him ... so ends round three

round IV: stud hi

though, a good start to this round for tinman ... who grabs 300 of ladymav's stack, leaving them both at around 800 ...

the chips flow clockwise for a few hands and then ladymav takes a 200 chip bite out of liza's stack to sit at 1000 ...

tinman's luck takes a turn for the worse again as liza shows pocket queens to 7th street against what seemed to be a flush draw for tinman ... betting all the way, liza wins 500 for the hand and is back to 3000, leaving tinman at 500 ... end of round IV

round V: stud hi/lo

tinman is all in during the first hand ... but manages to split with ladymav and stays alive ...

ladmav then takes 1000 from liza when she hits a higher two pair on 6th street that liza's two pair ...

tinman survives a few more hand ... but eventually liza takes him out with an ace high straight ...

the chip stacks of our two remaining competitors were quite even to start, but ladymav quickly took a 2700 to 1800 chip lead with a six high straight ...

the lead was then reversed a couple of hands later when liza had another straight, jack high ...

this round ends with liza at 2500 and ladymav with 2000

round VI: hold'em

after a couple of walks and small pots, ladymav took a small lead which was again evened as liza caught a queen on the river to beat ladymavs flopped pair of sevens ...

no such luck for liza a couple of hands later, as ladymav flopped sevens hold up and she takes a 2600 to 1900 lead ...

a couple of small pots winded ladymav's lead to 3000 vs. 1500, when liza's pocket eights turned into a flush ... bringing her back to 1800 ...

ahhh ... break time for tired fingers ...

round VII: oh8

ladymav hit a set of eights on the flop of an early hand and completed the low to take back the 2:1 chip lead ...

after anther small pot ... ladymav hit a pair of aces on the flop and completed a wheel on the river to take it down again and remain h.o.r.s.e. champion.

there is some unfortunate news to report though ... 'ladymavrick' seems to have joined 'donkhard' using the name 'ladymav' only after this tournament was completed ... i believe hoping to collect the bonus offered to the winner.
