My own challenge- no specific $ amount to reach
I am going to try to work up my $55 bankroll using proper bankroll management, and solid play. I have donkhard forums to thank for this starter roll. So I want to give back at some point if I am successful in growing my bankroll. This is what I'll do.
At $550 I will talk with TBD and see if I can set up a $50 freeroll
and swing money when I move higher to higher freerolls...
and charity
Wish me luck
Current Roll: $57.24

started today at $65
got as low as $49
and ended with $70 almost on the nose...

Re: My own challenge- no specific $ amount to reach
Current Roll: $61
was having a rough go at it yesterday. and i used about $10.50 for a guaranteed $2k tournament.
And what I mean by proper bankroll is this: I have $61, it is not feasible to buy into 5c/10c blind tables...for $10... If I fail all 6 times I only have $1 left... I've been buying into the 2/5c tables for $3 (sometimes $5 depending on how many fishes are all the table and what I have seen then pay off or when win with)...
I have 20 buyins using $3 and I myself should never fail all 20 times to make money...
there are books with bankroll management advice in it. Super Systems has a bit about this, it's good to know.

Re: My own challenge- no specific $ amount to reach
Haven't been on this board in a while, but good to see you guys taking on the Ferguson challenge. Keep at it guys!
If you guys keep on doing well, I may have to start posting my quest as well. Well, "quest" is a bit of an exaggeration since I have bits and pieces of cash in 4 or 5 different sites - all from freerolls.
Anyways, continued good luck and keep us posted!

Oddly enough I wasn't in the mood to play too much. Stopped now to read some more poker books.

the bankroll management devil has asked me to advocate, so ... if it doesn't make sense to sit down at a cash game with $10, how does it make sense to buy into a tournament for the same amount?

Re: My own challenge- no specific $ amount to reach
tournament offered way more cash...
i figured i could and did recoup the amount i spent on it...
and the i didn't mean to spend $10.50, i hit the add on button on accident the last time...
$550 for $10.50 is something $10 buyin cash tables can't not offer...

Trying to wake up to get back at it today...
Yesterday was kind of annoying. Missing my draws, stations sucking out, being down $15 at some point, but finally I just crushed one table with sets lol.....

Re: My own challenge- no specific $ amount to reach
Roll: $78 and change...
$20 of it was used to experiment at 5/10c and the rest was lost to suckouts, coolers, and just playing like ass chasing money and not being even keeled (though was not steamed, just not playing patient enough).... but i'm still up $23 so I am not that worried about it. just with no connection at my house currently can't really do much...

Ooh, a bit of a hit, but still, your bankroll looks pretty good - much better than mine! Out of curiosity, what poker room are you playing at? I don't recall if you posted that or not.
