i just got beat the other day on the daily eighty grand satillite on P.S. with quad 5s funny you mention that . lol

Wow, quad fives in both instances from the same player. That's rather sick.

The closest thing I remember that happening is when the first time I played in UB's freeroll. I got quads twice within the first 10+ hands. Since then, I may have hit quads twice in the same game maybe once more, but certainly not that close together.

I see nothing that makes me think it isn't random. I've seen just as
many strange things live. I was once dealt the same pocket cards 4
times in a row in a live game. I suppose it was possible someone was
stacking the deck to give me 5s 6c but I kind of doubt it. Just because
the odds against something are high doesn't mean something is rigged
when it happens.

Its not that it doesn't..or can't happen. Anything can happen. I just found it a bit odd...and the odds of that happening..2 out of 3 hands...are astronomical.

I hear ya on that. Some stranger things have happened to me during live games and the thing I usually think of these days when I think of astronomical odds is the quad aces vs royal flush at this year's WSOP.

I had two royal flushes in about 3 hours play a while back at a site I played very occasionally usually when I was in a slump everywhere else. I didn't bet agressively and couldn't even get a call for a half pot after the river. At the time I decided the sites random number generator was totally screwy so I avoided the site about three months ago they gave me five dollars to play. I really didn't expect anything good from them but I decided at least I'd be giving someone else the 5 for their bankroll if my expectations were met. I've been busy and haven't had a lot of time to play or post. But the site has been perfectly normal. I've played it up to $20 by way of about 40 cents at one point. But Holy cow two royals in 3 hours I heard a pro say he had only had two in his whole career. I guess you just have to say thats poker. I'm tending to stay at whatever site seems to be treating me best currently but in a couple months weeks or days it could be just hammering me with bad beats. the thing is to stay level headed about it I guess.

PS We are trying to sell our house and I've been working my butt off getting it in the best possible shape and keeping it there. Thats why I have'nt been around much lately but good luck all. Looking forward to being more active soon hope the house moves soon.

As statistically improbable as it is, stuff like that can and does naturally occur. It seems crazy but mathematically speaking, statistic anomalies should occur. If say for instance the chance of that happening were one in 2 billion, then that should happen once for every 2 billion times 3 hands are dealt, or once per 6 billion dealt hands.

Of course, what I used above is an example, I don't have the mathematic prowess to actually figure out what the odds really are, but I wanted to make the point. If any does happen to know the statistical odds of that occurring, I would love to know the answer and how you arrived at it.

On a side note, I had an experience similar to K9's (although they weren't 3 hours apart). I hit 2 Royal Flushes in the same week (both with K10 of clubs), and haven't had one before or since.
