i agree most probably think themselves, nothing wrong with that of course. only true way to judge is by bankroll which would eliminate myself i'm sure. i would like to be the best eventually but got a whole lot of proving to do.

I think I'm gonna take the modest tone on this question.... and say " It ain't me." I'm sure a lot of players would like to say... themselves... but I think there are several very solid players here. Playing styles may contrast slightly, but a lot of good players are here on donkhard. Some may be holdem specialist, some may be very diverse in their skills, so a true answer may not be found without a specific category to put players in to compare. Is one player the best because his, or her, holdem game is strong and is very successful and maybe plays mostly holdem? Maybe there is a player who is a very solid all around poker player... is he or she the best? Probably a question that may not have a single answer. Who is the best at getting their chips in with the best the biggest percentage of the time? Who is the best at playing from behind and being the most successful? Who is the luckiest? Who is the best tournament player? Who is the best ring player? Who is the best NL holdem player? Who is the best PL Omaha H/L player? Who is the best Badugi player? Who is the best at Razz, 7-2 Draw, Stud, Triple draw, 5 Card Draw, or maybe who is the best NL, or Limit player...etc?

Finding an answer to the question may not be so easy if it involves all of these questions. All I know is for sure, that there are a good many solid players with strong games... many in different directions, but still very solid players here.

There are some that would say that you are never good at poker unless you play for high stakes.. that makes the player. I'm not sure I agree with that statement, but I'm also not so sure I don't see the point of it for sure. Will you be as good a player if your risking stakes that maybe you can't really afford to do? Sure, bankroll management is a factor, but if you've got plenty of money, I would think it would be less likely to make you as nervous to make calls and raises when you've got enough riches that it's not going to hurt you financially if you bust out.

I like to think also that a lot of the bigger more famous poker players of today have an advantage over a lot of the pros out there in that they aren't risking enough of their own money that it could influence how they play. Do they always put up their own money to get in to some of the tourneys? Probably not always for sure.

Simple - it's me.

No, as Datsme said, different players excel in different areas and nobody is top dog all the time. That's the beauty of poker. Even if you're down on your luck and going through a rough patch you can still take down a tournament if the tide turns your way and the circumstances suit your game and temperament.

I know I'm far from the best player round here, but I hope my game will improve by picking up on advice and taking part in Donkhard tournaments. If you play with better players it has the effect of raising your game to a higher level.

and if you check my bankroll...well....i never made a deposit in my life cause i dont trust it still....
however on carbon ive got: 341.08$ and on fulltilt ive got 25 bucks and some change...
all in all not bad for a donkey huh

i think the best way to sort this out tho...is by hosting a game of our own somewhere.
but not just any game.... a point related game...

for example:

you host 2 games each week for 4 weeks in a row. 1 game a week as freeroll, teh other 1 with a small buyin.
so 4 freerolls and 4 buyin games.
the top 5 of the freerol games remain in the end, together with the top5 of the buyin games
those 10players compete in a last game called: last man standing..(or sum like that)
the player that wins that should get the bragging right to call himself or herself the best of donkhard
good idea? bad idea? your opinions???

ps: dont gimme that BS: i couldnt make it for the game so its not fairrrrr ....well boohooo, if you couldnt make it, it shows that you dont have dedication to the forum and you dont deserve the right to be king here.

Too many variables left open...if i had to choose from say the last 60 days,going strictly by what is posted,and using monies won as the deciding factor...then in what i,ve read on this forum...in the last go days...hogster had a hell of a run.

first of all theres lot of good players here amongst the regulars and at any given time we all have good rolls and bad thats poker some of us have played in different tournaments together some move on some go out but the main point about the forum is that we all respect each other and our or their game dont need to prove anything to any of my fellow donkhards and they dont need to prove anything to me but if ur looking to slug it out on the tables gl in your endeaver besides we are ready have a administrator that does the best thing for the forum so i will wait for his words on this

personally the game of poker takes a certain kind of skill. that over time one can gain possession of. but to be the best, thats a tough one. you never know what kind of cards you are going to get dealt. i've seen wsop champs get taken down by amatuers on t.v. i believe if you are getting dealt crap cards you are not going to advance in a tourney, even bluffers get called and lose. so to answer your question,even if we had a tourney with all the players and someone won, that still won t make him the best, it will only make him the winner of that tourney. who knows who's the best???????

TYVM for the mention Chefjimmy, but I am by far not the best here at Donkhard. I did have a really good month, but so did Phill and quite a few others. I went deep in one big tourney and and just small ITM in a bunch others. My bankroll is growing thou only problem my work is ramping up now and not much time to play except on week-ends. Personnaly I consider myself an advanced beginner to a beginning novice with DONKEY tendecies. Cya at the tables.
