Re: watch out for this cheat
Just curious how you know for a fact that he was using three accounts at the same time? I mean it would be pretty hard to know this unless you are right there, or he told you. I hate cheaters and colluders, i just was curious how you know.

Re: watch out for this cheat
well earlier in proceedings he made the mistake of apologising for taking so long as he had 4 games running now i just took that as ok fair enough until later when various things happend he was getting into hands with "other player" when his chips dropped and unless he is agenis and the other player was a complete zombie it was staged the player was calling allin with rubbish not even a pair after all the community cards were dealt i why would they do that he was also dumping chips and getting his other players to call right until the river when they had aleady put 99 percent of there chips in leaving them with say 50 chips and they just folde mysteriously this was happening lots and to really appreciate it yo had to be at the final table also it was pretty easy to spot as this freeol did not have many entrants this is why i think he thought hey i can take full advantage here also the table ws in uproar and he never even denied it not cast iron proof i know but what proof without a frank admission could i really ge im as near to 100 percent sure as i can be really,,,, if he thinks its slander he can conslt a lawyer but i think we both know he int doing that ,, i only wrote this to warn ppl it can do no harm to him if hes innocent and can do no harm to warn ppl

Re: watch out for this cheat
scared me....thought it was gonna say "tinman" for a secnd there! lol jk i don't cheat. takes all the fun out of the game....but it does happen.there are all kinds of ways to cheat, both online and live....from micro to histakes....its all a part f the game....there a million things a good poker play watches 4 n battles against in evry hand at every table.....cheatings just one of them.
too bad its not like the old days when they used to just pull out the old 6shooter and bust a cap in a cheat.

Re: watch out for this cheat
I've heard about this before. I can see that it would be an unfair advantage, and I don't need that. I'm already handicapped enough as it is!!

And i fully agree with this!!!
Re: watch out for this cheat
i can tell u now if those accounts were usuing same ip address it would not let them into same tourney. me and my sister tried to get into a funstep 1 and an alert came up that some1 with same ip address was in tourney and it wouldn't let her register. they can play on same site but not same tourneys

Re: watch out for this cheat
Well, I know what was said about IP addresses is true. You can't play in the same tourney that way and I think it isn't easy to have 2 accounts on the same IP address for that matter...even that shouldn't be allowed, but you have laptops with wireless routers in buildings that have many different IP addresses. You don't have to be just one person to pull this cheat. It doesn't take much to bring several laptops into one room and play a tournament or a ring game for that matter and be at the same table too. Cheating does go on... even online poker... watch for signs of it happening. I have seen it a few times and it wasn't always at a freeroll! Beware when playing online poker that this type of cheating can and has went on. It is usually caught, but I'll bet it hasn't always been discovered for sure!
Some of these wireless routers have a pretty good range on them! Think about it... how would you like to be playing a cash game when 4 or 5 or maybe more are at your table playing in the same room on laptops where they can see ALL of their cards when playing every hand! For that matter, you can get ethernet cables that are very long too! How would you like to play against those odds! Some of these online poker games have pretty high stakes that aren't private tables... so again... beware!
If you see this going on and your sure it is a cheat taking place...
even if it's a freeroll.... turn them in and try to get others at the
table to turn them in too. They might just be trying it out to see how
well it works before they go for higher stakes tables!
There is more than one reason why I don't like to play more than very small stakes, or just freerolls, when playing online poker.

Re: watch out for this cheat
Thanks for the heads up... Although this activity is illegal on most sites, I know it still happens. Generally, they WILL catch you because they can verify the multiple accounts by IP Address. And they will, and have closed all account using multiple acounts, confiscated the funds from those accounts, and distributed them to the effected tables.

Re: watch out for this cheat
Hi all, first post, and since I'm a paid computer geek I figured why not post here.
In the case of most homes and businesses, if people within the building or room are connecting to the internet through the same router (whether wired or wireless) and internet account, then they will all have the same shared internet IP. The unique local IPs of each computer are private and do not go out over the internet.
There are some exceptions, however:
Also, some sites like PokerStars have no problem with other PC's in the same household with the same IP connecting and playing at the same time, you just can't play at the same table or in the same tourney. My wife has her own Stars account and we both play at the same time, but she's upstairs doing her own thing (usually SnG's), and I'm downstairs in my office doing something else. I made sure to notify Stars before she signed up, to be sure it was okay, and they told me it was fine as long as we didn't play in the same game.

There are some exceptions, however:
- As mentioned, in a multi-dwelling unit like an apartment or dorm, there may be a lot of people with different internet accounts and wireless routers within range of each other. People could conceivably get together and each person hit a different router. These would be virtually impossible to catch as cheaters unless they did something really stupid to identify themselves as such.
- Some universities actually assign each student their own static IP address that follows them around no matter where they plug-in or connect wireless on campus. In that case every PC in the room *would* have different IPs, and again would be nearly impossible to prove as cheaters.

Re: watch out for this cheat
Of cause the sites are tracking the IPs but if you manage to conect through diferent routers (eg WIFI of the neighbor) its no problem to play multiaccounting.

Re: watch out for this cheat
thats pretty interested stuff. after watching truckers video on u tube last night. i stayed on and was checking out all the poker scandals and cheating methods it has. it also mentions pokerstars which i was suprised by. i knew about AP and UB. what it comes down to it. there are scumbags everywhere trying to take your money whether on the internet or in person. so i guess we should all take that old warning a little more seriously "BUYER BEWARE"

Cheating ....
Now that's one thing that will get my attention.
If you have an opportunity to report this kind of activity, PLEASE DO. If you can take advantage of the collusion then take every chip there is to take. I have no issue playing one on one and if I loose then so be it, but if I loose because others are cheating, NOT COOL.
Please do not tolerate cheating.
