The best advise I can give you is to not be a player that CAN be perceived.. at least not one that stays a certain way. Tight/Aggressive play image is good to establish, but mixing it up at the right times can make for a lot of success in pots you might not normally think of playing. Establishing a tight image can get you a lot of steals.. and steals can make the difference in being successful or being a losing player. Grinding is what it's about IMO, but don't allow your play to get too rigid. You seem to know a bit more about the game than most self proclaimed noobs, so get you image established and then turn that against them at opportunistic moments and you will find more success than totally playing very tight.

Using this strategy in tourneys can get you a lot of respect especially later in the game and players will have to play you more straight up and not be able to sit on you. Use this in cash games to grind away and keep them off balance after you establish yourself. Being too predictable can be your undoing, but turning the tables on your opponents with good timing can confuse and place doubt in their minds. Seek out the fish? Sure.. and use good bait and trap those fish into submission.
