one of the stupid things about most, if not all, online poker sites are they do not have burn cards, which detracts from the authenticity of how cards are played in casinos, poker rooms, dog tracks, some house games...

though i highly doubt that bad beats go away

to me people complain too much about bad beats online, they happen to everyone equally, and i personally have never seen much difference between bad beats happening on all the sites i played on....

i think FTP is fine, i played there and i never noticed it happen and exorbitant amount of times, and trust me i took a severe one in a tournament and would like to blame something for it, but it's poker, statisically even 1 outters should hit once every twenty five hands, from flop to river.

Full Tilt is my favorite site to play and I don't know if using a randomizer makes much of a difference or not. I do know that I don't win as much on the other sites as I do on Full Tilt. Anyway some may like knowing this about the site so can BLAME something instead of themself for bad play or just luck.

well, I have personally lost big pots from people being idiots and catching in omaha... like having no draw on flop and hitting runner-runner... having their own outs in their hand and hitting flushes... or drawing to things that aren't the nuts, which really isn't good play on their part and hitting (these players would systematically be felted by me when i had a real bankroll to absorb those losses)

also last night i lost to this guy in Triple Draw 2-7 PL on Poker Stars on a play chip table like 2 or 3 times when he had a 7-5 or #1 in that game....and he hits the #1 a few more times in a short period of time, which was really really bizaar, i'd love to ask a poker pro about the odds of hitting it as often as he did.

to me the reason so much bad beats and coolers happening online isn't from a site's hand generator, it's because the volume of hands played in an hour online is higher than a brick and mortar cardroom. and also people chase way worse online than elsewhere.

Okay I watched that youtube video embedded on there, some of those hands are silly, and some can are expected to occur, like the board being 7-8-9 and the guy has QQ and going all in on it, that A-10 had 11 outs to kill off those Queens, which is about 45% of the time, so that isn't like a real bad beat, that's almost 50-50...and the guy with the Queens is kind of a donk to just bet at it like that anyhow, 5-6 or J-10 calling his preflop raise (which I do sometimes if the man has lots of chips in front of him)

The lack of burn cards is the least of the issues if you are wanting online poker to replicate live poker. Like I have said over and over and over, so many times in fact I am about ready to dummy up. Live poker and online poker are two different monsters. They are not the same and they never will be the same game. I don't care if you put randomizers on top of randomizers on top of real time randomizing you will not change the fact that you are dealing with programs. Need I remind you that programs are utilities needing PROGRAMMING. And anything needing programing is programmable. If you know what I mean.

My neighbor does nothing but play online poker for a living. He has bought his house, his cars and even pays his landscapers and pool guys with the money he makes online playing poker. Do you honestly think he does that by simply sitting at a computer and logging on like we do?

Well, I don't know. But what I do know is online poker will never, ever be like real live poker we have seen in card rooms the last umpteen years. There is absolutely no way to ensure integrity and security unless you deal it by hand.
