Brick and Mortor Cash!!!
What's up everyone???
Played last night at the local casino. 87people $15 buy, $10 rebuy tourney. I made it to final 7 and we all agreed to a chop. I was 3rd in chips at the time. $448 cash. Not too bad! Top prize was like $1200.
I did get lucky a couple times...woohoo for me.
Hand 1. I had Qc7c mid position. Blinds 6000/3000. I have 6700 left...all in I announce. Folded to BB who was chip leader. He immediately mucks.. the table goes wild..LOL
Hand 2. Short stacked again at final table with 10,200. Blinds 10k/5k. Mid position with Th8h. All in announced by me! Folds to BB. He calls....has T5os. I hit my 8 on the flop..and I'm in bidness. The rest is history!

Re: Brick and Mortor Cash!!!
Congrats on your finish. Good game.
Just out of curiosity, how'd you all work out the deal to chop? Did you all divide it up evenly or dole it in some other fashion according to chipstacks?

We were all fairly close in chips. One guy I think would have went out after another round of the blinds. It was just a gentleman's gesture between all of us to get $448 instead of playing luckball. Blinds were 10k/20k.

Re: Brick and Mortor Cash!!!
Sounds like a good deal. I know alot of the daily local tournies can turn into some serious crapshoots as the blinds grow. The even chop sounds fair enough in a dice-roll situation.
I was just curious because I like to hear all the different kinds of ways people negotiate final table deals.
I've personally never taken a deal. I might one day if the price were right. But after coming back from dead last to win the whole thing twice in my career, I can't help but always think, "I can win this thing!"
Besides, if you've never tried being the only holdout when the rest of the table wants to deal, you ought to give it a whirl one day. It's alot of fun if you're a little sadistic. After refusing the deal and resuming play, you essentially become a "bounty" in the tournament, with everyone left gunning for you full force. This is a great way to accumulate chips when the cards fall your way. And often, pots get built up so big gunning for you that by the time you step out of the way, the other players end up K.O.'ing eachother in pursuit of the big pot, and up the money ladder you go.

Totally agree. Two things factoring in. 7th place paid $136. I had 1 hr and 15 min drive home..then had to drive 1 hr 15 min to work next day..starting at 5:45 am... If I had the day off...you bet I would have taken my shot!
