Made it to live tournament of champions

I just won first place in a Ladies Only Tournament on Wed nite in our local casino. First and second got an automatic entry to the tournament of champions on Aug 26th. I feel this is my best poker accomplishment to date. I play a ton on line but very rarely live. Last year I entered twice and got knocked out very early. This time I decided to play slow and steady and it payed off. First was 506.00 but I ended up chopping when we were heads up cause it was my cousin. I was the official winner because of my chip stack. What a great feeling.

Congrats on your live poker win! You should be proud of that accomplishment... absolutely! Not only do you have a win, and a good cash amount, you also will play in what is likely a better opportunity at even more cash in the champions event!

That is TOTALLY AWESOME Tukie CONGRATS CONGRATS and many many more wins coming your way. I would be yelling and screaming and jumping up and down. I would probably been banned from the casino. LOL Keep us posted on how you do in the Champions Tourney.

Well I entered again this week. Managed to take down 4th. Had chip lead most of the game and right into the final table. Lost quite a bit on one hand trying to take out a player but still managed to hang on for 4th. I'll probably try it a lot more times before the finals just to get the practice. Seems to be same players each week so it doesn't hurt to get to know your opponents and how they play.

nice finish tukie. great idea to keep on playing to get your opponents playing styles down. should make your chances of winning the big one even better. you will also be able to get the tournament structure down, which is very important. i think it is one of the most underrated strategies when it comes to tourny play. i play different on various sites because of this reason. when the blinds are faster i am willing to call a big bet with less than the nuts while i always look for a better spot when the blinds are slow.

Thanks guys for all the encouragement. I do think the slow playing in the beginning has helped me the last 2 weeks. Of course this week it didn't hurt to have 4 awesome starting hands and taking a nice chip lead right off. I think maybe I played a little too cautious a few times cause I could have taken at least 4 more out of it. I just picked the wrong one at final table to face off against lol.

congrats on your win tukie, i play every weekend with a bunch of friends and nothing compares to winning a live tourney, i've won 3 times and it felt great, enjoy the feeling, my more wins come your way.

Well guys I entered again last nite. Guess what I took down first place again. What a rush. Thought I was out of it with low chip stack with about 12 or so left. Hung in won some chips back and managed to finess my way to first. Once again my patience angle paid off. I played a bit more aggressive this time cause they are getting to know me and won't call if I give it a good raise. Managed to steal a few blinds and won a few semi bluffs here and there. I've never been in the money 3 for 3 what a great feeling. (Now I know how illphilll feels with all his ITM games lol). I might just go back again next Wed. I'll probably feel like an absolute loser if I don't get at least 5th in it but in the game of poker you can't expect to win every time.

Well last nite was the disappointment I knew was coming couldn't get a hand for a foot lol. Didn't make it to first break. Oh well there is always next week. I never give up got to keep sharp for that tournament of champions.

Went in tourney last nite and made 5th place. Unfortunately it was the first week they only paid down 3 spots cause the turnout wasn't as good as usual. Was 2nd high in chip lead at final table but when we get there they re-draw for seats. I was sitting at that same table all nite but drew a different seat. Now I know why it was so easy to take the girl out that was sitting there earlier. Terrible hands and when I did get a good one got out drawn or no flop and had to fold after paying to see the flop. I think fifth was respectable but no money was a bummer. Oh well all is fair in love and poker lol. I'll be putting in a new report next week. Hopefully it will be a bigger success.

picture, it appears you've made a successful transition from online to
live play, based on your earlier results, so keep it up.
Hopefully we'll be reading about a big win down the road from you, so

Well I missed last week's tourney but went last nite. Called exactly 4 hand in the first hour. Won one hand but of course as soon as I bet every one folded. Couldn't catch a hand. Then it came AK. Girl ahead of me raised, I reraised to 1200 next one went all in for 1400, original girl says all in. I play with her every week and figured her for maybe mid size pocket pair or AQ, AK it would put me all in, decided well win or lose best hand I saw all nite took the plunge. You guessed it she had AA. However, king flopped with 2 sixes and you guessed it I rivered the king. She was ready to slap me I think lol. The other caller went in with kq and I had to give her some of the pot but I got the lions share. Bad new for me tho time to move me to a new table. Get my unlucky seat 6 (I hate that seat). Called a couple small pots didn't win and lo and behold here comes my AK again. 400 bb I raise to 1200, seat 7 goes all in. I don't know this girl as well but she had been raising with just and Ace earlier and I had her covered for chips. Wouldn't you know I call and she has those same pocket rockets. I didn't luck out this time and lose a lot of my stack. Couple hands later I'm down to about 1000 go all in A4 hearts and its goodbye tukie. I guess I learned a lesson about big slick it can kill you or save you at times lol. May miss next week but will report if I go.
