finally got a gold card

got a gold card on the cake network today, given out during ring games after the table has reached a certain amount of rake. i have seen so many passed out while i was on the table, thought i would never get one. was playing omaha h/l and left up a couple dollars so all around a very productive session.

chef like i said it was my first one, how do the cards work. did you use yours or are you sitting on them. i noticed that today it was an entry into a $2,000 tourny for the specific gold card. i thought i seen other times where they just gave you money upfront for the card. i am patient and willing to wait to use it, any advice what i should wait out for?

hey phil, congrats on the gold card, thought they were a myth for a while, never seen nobody get one, i know on doyles they have gold card lotteries everyday where you can use them, i don t know about cake though, maybe someone else like the BD can help you out on that one, good luck with it.

All the Cake sites run on the same Gold Card system, so the prizes are global. I remember winning my first Gold Card. It was so exciting. I still get excited whenever I win one.

As for what you can get with them, they have a daily Gold Card Lottery where they draw a random card or series of cards and offer tourney entries or cash prizes in exchange for your cards.

They also have a leaderboard competition where the top Gold Card earners can win weekly cash prizes up to $500.

The granddaddy of the competition is the annual $52,000 Jackpot. Be the first to collect all 52 cards and you win $52,000!

I go for the $52,000 myself, so I won't trade in any of my cards in the lottery if it's my only one. If I have multiples of the same card, I'll trade those in the lottery.

tbd i am way behind you on the poker growth chart, i play low limit and not enough to go for the set of gold cards. that would be sweet if you could hit for the 52K, not sure what your bankroll is but i'm sure that would put a big smile on your face. best of luck getting the collection up, gonna be a while before i get another.

I think I've only got a dozen or so cold cards. I checked the "frontsrunners" page, but my name is not even on the list. I don't think I'll actually be the first to get all 52, but it gives me something to work for. Even if I can't win the $52K, I figure I'll still have a decent collection by the end of the year.

I don't actually collect to many Gold Cards, probably because I seem to play tournies more often, and when I am in the ring, I don't usually multi-table and I stick within my BRM limits.
