DONKHARD FREEROLL SCAMMERS
I myself was kinda shocked by the amount of members that had joined this site. I thought that come trny time I would be punching it out with 1146 other players. Boy was I wrong when I found that most of the people that signed up have never posted a single post. Don,t get me wrong the less players the better when it comes time to play.
But what I see in the members section is a bunch of people joining the forum just to play in that days trny that they saw on the site which was going to host it. Hope this don,t get me banned but here are a few numbers to let the people who make this there forum home, know who there friends are.
The people you see on the left(top posters) make this site as good as it is. I think that a big banner at the top of our webpage should read.( If your here just for the freerolls then just keep on rollin!!!. I have a few numbers that show what I mean.
1. 1146 members have registered here
2. 931 members have never posted even a hello
3. 215 members have posted 1 post or more
4. 121 so called members have posted only 1 post
So the way I see it we really only have 94 people that should ever be in any 1 trny at any given time. Just wondering what the totals have been lately. And like I say I hope this don,t get me banned....Truckinloot

well, this just shows how many people only join the site to get the password. That is just horrible.

Re: DONKHARD FREEROLL SCAMMERS
Other sites have the same problem!
Just delay password posting until 10-15 minutes before freeroll start, and many of these "loyal" members wouldn't be there at the tournament!
And the password isn't going to be published at other forums......

Re: DONKHARD FREEROLL SCAMMERS
No ban! No way! I'll be double-dipped in donkey doodie before I'll punish someone for speaking the truth.
Excellent statistical analysis, btw.
And although it is sad that more of our members aren't here for more than just passwords, I feel it's all been worth it. If we get even one member like yourself or the folks off to the left there for every 100 password hunters, then it's not all in vain.
I personally plan to dig into my own pockets to exclusively reward our active members, as a way of saying thanks. Unfortunately for the password hunters, these rewards will not be available to them.
I was actually planning on doing some member pruning, but it just recently came to my attention that nearly 200 of our members have been unable to log in due to validation issues. I have corrected the issue, but would like to give our members who were inadvertently locked out of the forum ample opportunity to join the ranks of the living donkhards.
Thank you for your contributions thus far, Truckinloot. We're glad to have you here.

Mr. Big, thanks for the no ban. Just so you know I used to be a tournament director for a pool site that I helped build. I,m just wondering if you have the same powers over this site that we had there.
Are you able to do a personal invite trny where you are able to post the names of the eligdable players that can play ? So that even if the password thieves get the password they cannot enter because their name isnt on the By invite list? If there is anything I can do to help with this I would be proud to help out. If it takes personal invites and password distribtution to personal e-mail addresses I would help with the sending.
I do have more ideas too but lets try to get this one figured out before i start my rants and raves.lol jk
Please just let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.....truckinloot(paul)

Re: DONKHARD FREEROLL SCAMMERS
Another site I belong to gives a list to the poker site for the freerolls but yet another I belong to sends out passwords so of course they have problems. I think if the site is small lists work great but if it's a large forum then passwords work best.

non-members and dead stacks ...
appreciate the post ... but how did it end up in the 'hand history' thread?
oh and igor ... i agree with you about changing the password release time to shortly before the weekly freeroll begins. thank you for making that suggestion.

Re: DONKHARD FREEROLL SCAMMERS
I don't see how changing the password release time will change anything. I am one of the top posters here and that would make things harder for me. I don't play in many of the freerolls now. This would only make it so I probably would miss more, if not, most of them.
code release period ...
the closer to the start of a tournament that an access code is released, means:
- less opportunity for the code to be used by non-members of a site. some people will post such codes on other sites or distribute them by email. if such people have less time to do so, particularly in the case of posting to other sites ... fewer non members would receive the information and have an opportunity to enter tournaments improperly.
- fewer dead stacks. some people enter tournaments hours, or even days ahead of their start time ... and then don't play, without un-registering. this usually happens either because they forget or subsequently feel they have something more important to do.

sorry ...
ha ... guess i put my foot in my mouth, and then proceeded to shoot myself in said foot!
got home from work last night and forgot about the 'donkhard' members tournament on full tilt. having signed up days in advance ... i proved my own point about the dead stack issue.
i personally dislike playing at a table with dead stacks. one isn't so bad, but based on my experience with these freerolls ... i was probably one of four or five at any given table. sorry for that everybody.

Scammer
why can't people just be honest and do what it takes no matter what it is. It really is that hard to do.
Re: DONKHARD FREEROLL SCAMMERS
I came to this site because i was hunting passwords, but after checking it out and playing in a tourny a couple of weeks ago I find myself checking this site out everyday and finding out what people are saying. And by checking everyday, it keeps me interested in playing. This is a good site and I think it will be up and running for hopefully a very long time. Proud to be a member here and will tell my friends about this site

Re: DONKHARD FREEROLL SCAMMERS
I was just scrolling through the member list and it pissed me off. I can't believe how many of them have zero postings or maybe 1 or 2. My first reaction would be to suspend the non active members. But then I thought about it a little bit. What about doing something like the poker sites. They use frequent player points. I know that sounds like the tournament for top posters but you could work it in another manner I have other suggestions but i will hold off on posting them here. I will put my thoughts together and post them in the king and queens lounge.

Debel wrote:...What about doing something like the poker sites. They use frequent player points...
Now this is a brilliant idea.
I it!
I'd like to discuss the idea in more detail: things points can be used for, how points are acquired/tracked, point values, etc.
non-posting members
It's worth noting that there are registered members like me who like to read the stories & questions on the forum, but don't feel compelled to post. Lurkers, I think we're called. It doesn't make us bad people, just quiet.

idea
you could work a credit system where you have to buy the password.Another site recently opened and that is how they do it.you get points for posts.you could sell pw to members who can in turn keep or re-sale.this would re-ward participating members and keep others out.would also reduce number of people in freerolls.Example,20 credits for a pw.5 credits a post.someone posting alot could buy up maybe 20 pws and keep or sell them.there should be a cap on number of pws available.

Re: DONKHARD FREEROLL SCAMMERS
There are always freeroll whores at every site.
Does not make them bad people. I would assume this is how many players start there poker playing, who will be the next big name? maybe some one who got there start here.

NON POSTING MEMBERS
Well I certainly can't speak for all of us non-posters. But there are those of us that don't know diddly when it comes to the proper way to play this game. And for me to post a reply to someones question would get me laughed off here in a heart beat I'm sure. LOL My main reason for joining is to learn from those of you that know how to play this game. The free roll passwords are a bonus for me. My head is still spinning about the article posted on pot odds, break even percentages, and then I read something about "EV" LOL what's that? Like the earlier post said were just quiet because we don't have anything knowledgeable to say about the game...........yet. Thanks for taking the time to read this. (I hope this post comes out right)

Re: DONKHARD FREEROLL SCAMMERS
JunkYDawg makes an excellent point here. Considering our heavy emphasis on freerolls, it's reasonable to assume that many of our members are new to the game. And I'm sure there are many like JunkYDawg, who are here to learn and find ways to improve their game.
I have found that with poker, the more I learn, the more I love the game.
For those who really want to learn the game, there are a few things I would recommend. Play alot. Read alot. Watch alot of videos. Also, ask alot of questions. This is the place to do it.
I know alot of folks don't want to ask questions that may sound "stupid." But remember than nothing that helps you to learn is stupid. I'll go ahead and put myself out there.
When I first started playing poker, some pleasant young lady (f%$#in' b!&$% actually) was going off on me about coming in with Ace-Rag UTG.
What is Aceragutg? I asked. I didn't get an answer then, but I found it later. For those who don't know, Ace rag is typically considered any hold'em hand where one of your cards is an Ace and the other is a 9 or lower.
So what's UTG? UTG is an abbreviation for "under the gun" which is the player directly to the left of the Big Blind. This player is the first to act once the hole cards have been dealt out. This is one of the worst table positions to play from because the UTG player must decide if he wants to play before he knows what anyone else is going to do. After you call, someone else may raise, or even go all in, and now you're stuck with a tough decision. Typically it's best to throw away most starting hands from UTG.
More from my early poker days:
The first time I played online, two little buttons would come up every time I won a pot. The buttons were "Muck Hand' and "Show Hand." I showed EVERYTHING! Every hand, every bluff, everything. You know why? Because muck sounded something like dirtying up my cards, tossing them out to the gutter or something like that. I figured if I pushed that "Muck" button, they would automatically win the money. Turns out that not true. And showing big bluffs to people is also not the best way to make friends as it turns out.
In my very first hand of my very first poker game in a real casino, I won a "huge" (seemed huge then) pot when I flopped a boat. I had no idea how I flopped a boat, but I was glad I did. Apparently it was better than the Full House I got on the first 3 cards.
The thing was that I always played card games for fun around the house with the old folks, who weren't into and didn't use all the fancy poker lingo and jargon. When I started playing poker with strangers, most of the time I had no clue what was going on. But I asked and I learned. Now, years later, I'm still asking and still learning.

Re: DONKHARD FREEROLL SCAMMERS
I want to come clean...I first came to this site in search of a password! But I tended to like that it wasn't full of a bunch of windbags, and even the site name was kind of cool...so I just hung around and made a few posts. I don't know, I think that having the freerolls will bring in new talent over time. It's like any form of advertising. I used to work in direct marketing, and that was a frequent flyer program for an airlines. A lot of people signed up the day of a flight and never posted another flight on that airlines again. But just once in a while, it was a business traveler who eventually made 100's of flights and became a very valuable customer to the program. So you never know when it's going to happen. You just have to weed through all the one timers and hope for the diamond in the rough.
I am new here...
I am one of those people that has not posted. I just like to go on and read the posts. I enjoy poker and have not played your freerolls. So... I dont just go on to get the codes. I think it is wrong to accuse people like me for doing such a thing. I am sorry if I affend anyone but that posting affended me.
