Double or Nothing
I love this double or nothing. First few days took to many risks and was only breaking even but the last few days I have doubled my bankroll. Anyone else try it??

Re: Double or Nothing
yes I also learned to take it slow but I figure only a matter of time before others figure it out also but I think it will take longer on the low buy-in tables because you have more new players still trying it out

Re: Double or Nothing
You're referring to the new PokerStars Sit & Go's, I assume.
I like these games, especially the PL Omaha variations. They do offer all variations, including Hold'em. For those who aren't familiar, these are single table sit and go tournaments where 10 players each buy-in for a set amount, say $5. The first 5 players who go out get nothing. The other 5 who place ITM (in the money) each get double their buy-in ($10 in this example).
It's an interesting approach to SNG's, and something I think will catch on. It probably won't be long before these Double or Nothing games start popping up on other sites.
I was a little surprised at first at the speed of these games, or rather lack thereof. Much slower than I expected, but the bubble steals are insanely easy. With 6 players left, you can all but just reach right over and take chips out of people's stacks. Nobody wants to go out on the bubble, especially when finishing just barely ITM = finishing 1st.
I've also found that unlike big MTT's where an early double up is nearly meaningless, a double-up of your starting stack in these games is very often good for the $$$.

Re: Double or Nothing
i see doyle's has a sit N go now called carnage. where 1 hand is dealt and the person with best hand wins. seems kinda like all luck of the draw but interesting all the same. slyone66

Interesting - this actually reminded me of the casino game war (each person dealt one card, highest card wins). On the plus side, you won't be staying at the table long, on the downside, its all luck it seems since you don't fold your cards and I assume there's no betting either?
And one thing about the Double or Nothing SNGs is that I've been getting some beats of late because people will overplay certain hands when you've got a more formidable or stronger hand. I remember I lost on the bubble with AJ - I was fairly short stacked (maybe the low stack, I can't remember) and was forced all in by my opponent who had QJ. I hit two pair on the flop but runner, runner, and I lose to a straight. Not the worst beat I've gotten but thats the one that currently sticks out in my mind.

Re: Double or Nothing
I played in a freeroll once where it was either all in of fold. No in betweens. It was pretty cool, very fast. Unfortunately, I didn't make the money. JJ and got called by AQ and he hit in the turn. Oh well!!!
