since few details were provided ... i'll have to assume the blinds were 1/2k, your opponent had a pocket pair as well and depending on the manner of that person's play, may have tried to increase their hand value by maximizing fold equity. if this was the case and you had re-raised more, some players might have folded. regardless of how it happens, getting all the chips in preflop with aces is very desirable ... you know that.
